Are you an experienced and confident classroom practitioner ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to take on a leading role within the classroom, planning and delivering lessons and providing high-level support to ensuring every student achieves their best.
About WPT
At Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT), we are fueled by a single commitment: 'We never knowingly do less for other people’s children than we would for our own.' As a thriving network of schools across South Yorkshire, we combine high expectations with embedded inclusivity. We do not work in silos; instead, we rely on deep collaboration and school-to-school support to ensure every student develops socially, emotionally, and academically to achieve the highest standards.
About the Role
As a Level 4 Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will have a higher degree of autonomy and responsibility than a standard support role. You will be instrumental in organising the learning environment and will frequently plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities for individuals, groups, and whole classes. You will act as a bridge between support staff and teachers, often covering classes in a teacher's absence and taking a lead on implementing EHCPs. This is a dynamic role perfect for someone who wants to make a significant impact on teaching and learning standards.
Responsibilities
Planning & Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities for individuals, groups, and whole classes (including providing short-term cover supervision), setting challenging objectives to meet student needs.
SEN Management: Lead the development and implementation of EHCPs, contributing to reviews and liaising with parents and external agencies to ensure robust support for pupils with additional needs.
Assessment & Reporting: Monitor and evaluate pupil progress using various assessment strategies, maintaining accurate records to provide objective feedback and inform future planning.
Pastoral & Behaviour: Manage classroom behaviour to promote independence and self-control, whilst providing pastoral care to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead meetings with parents and professionals.
GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
The succesful candidate must hold their HTLA Qualification or equivalent
