Are you a confident and adaptable individual with a passion for education? We are looking for a resilient Cover Supervisor to step into our classrooms and ensure that learning never stops, providing vital support to students and maintaining stability during teacher absences.
About WPT
At Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT), we are fueled by a single commitment: 'We never knowingly do less for other people’s children than we would for our own.' As a thriving network of schools across South Yorkshire, we combine high expectations with embedded inclusivity. We do not work in silos; instead, we rely on deep collaboration and school-to-school support to ensure every student develops socially, emotionally, and academically to achieve the highest standards.
About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, no two days are the same. You will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity for our students when their regular teacher is away. This role is ideal for those who enjoy working with young people and possess a strong classroom presence. You will not be expected to plan lessons; instead, you will deliver work set by the teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task. It is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to gain classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching, or for experienced professionals who excel at behaviour management.
Responsibilities
Deliver activities that have been prepared by the classroom teacher and supervise self-directed learning to ensure that learning is not disrupted by the teacher’s absence and the curriculum continues to be delivered successfully.
Set up the classroom appropriately, ensuring the correct resources are available to deliver the learning activities efficiently whilst giving consideration to Health and Safety.
Manage pupil behaviour, dealing with any immediate problems to ensure that the learning activities run smoothly and pupil safety is maintained.
Provide immediate, informal feedback to pupils to ensure that they continue to perform to a high standard.
Provide feedback and return any completed work to the classroom teacher so that any further action can be followed up by the teacher.
The successful candidate must hold an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
