Terms and Conditions of Application

Terms and Conditions of Job Application

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms", "Terms and Conditions") govern your application process for a position within Wickersley Partnership Trust ("Institution", "We", "Us", "Our", “WPT”).

Please read these Terms carefully before submitting your application.

Application Process

By submitting your application for a job position at Our Institution, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.

Please ensure you complete all sections of the application form. Please note that providing false information will result in your application being rejected, withdrawal of any offer of employment, summary dismissal if you are in post, and possible referral to the Police.

Checks may be carried out to verify the contents of your application form. This will include online checks at shortlisting stage which may help identify any incidents or issues that have happened, and are publicly available online, which the Trust or school might want to explore with the applicant at interview.

WPT has a recruitment policy; to adhere to this, each Offer of Employment is subject to satisfactory Reference Background checks, an Enhanced DBS Check, medical checks and evidence of the Right to Work in the UK. All support staff roles are subject to a 6-month probationary period. Canvassing, directly or indirectly, an employee or Governor will disqualify the application.

WPT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Applications cannot be accepted without a Supporting Statement. CVs are not accepted.

Supporting Statement

As part of your application, please upload a supporting statement which should be no longer than two sides of A4 (CVs are not accepted), clearly demonstrating:

  • Why you are applying for this position

  • How you meet the competencies of this role using examples from your current and previous experience

  • Any information which you consider relevant that you have not already mentioned

This information is important as it will be used in the shortlisting process to identify suitable candidates for interview and assessments.

You can upload one attachment as part of the application process. The accepted file types are Microsoft Word (.docx), and PDF (.pdf).

References

All applicants must provide details of at least 2 references.

If you are not currently in a role which involves working with children and the role you are applying for involves working with children, please ensure you include a reference from previous employment which includes working with children. This could be a third reference, if you still want to submit your previous employer and a personal reference.

References cannot be accepted from relatives or from people writing solely in the capacity of a friend.

Schools are now required, as part of their shortlisting process and due diligence checks, to carry out an online search. If shortlisted for the role an appropriate online search will be undertaken on your name(s). Any information will be treated as confidential and will only be used in relation to the post applied for.

Declarations

All vacancies advertised by WPT are exempt from the Rehabilitation Offenders Act (1974) (amended 2013). You are therefore required to provide details of any unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings you may have and any unprotected spent convictions.

Guidance and criteria on the filtering of these cautions and convictions can be found on the Disclosure and Barring Service website.

If any of the above apply to you and you are invited for an interview, a statement of any spent convictions that are not protected and any unspent convictions should be submitted in a sealed envelope marked 'Private and Confidential' and handed to the Chair of the interview panel only.
