Job title: Welfare Officer

Salary: WPT Band 6 £31067 - £33366 (£27362 - £29387 pro-rata)

Hours: 37 hours per week,  Term Time including 5 additional days

Contract type: Permanent

Location: Wickersley Partnership Trust

We’re dotted across Rotherham, South Yorkshire with one school based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.

Join Our Dynamic Team as a Welfare Officer!

We are looking for a committed and proactive Welfare Officer to join our team and help ensure that all pupils are supported in achieving their full potential.

Responsibilities Include

  • Foster strong relationships between families and WPT helping parents understand and fulfil their legal responsibilities around attendance.

  • Support parents in addressing barriers to attendance, offering practical advice and guidance.

  • Meet with parents and students to develop tailored action plans aimed at reducing absences and improving attendance rates.

  • Monitor and record outcomes, maintaining accurate and timely casework notes and records.- Undertake investigations in line with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 to support effective case management.

  • Prepare and provide evidence for court proceedings when necessary.- Represent the academy at child protection meetings and conferences, contributing to critical decision-making processes.

  • Ensure all safeguarding concerns are handled in line with academy policies and statutory guidance.- Track and analyze attendance data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Provide regular reports and advice to key staff, ensuring data is managed with the utmost confidentiality.

  • Work closely with external partners and agencies to create a coordinated approach to improving attendance and ensuring alternative provision is effective.

  • Act as a key link between the academy and other organizations to support pupil attainment and well-being.
