Job title: Teaching Assistant Level 4

Salary: WPT Band 6 £31067 - £33366 (£25144 - £27004 pro-rata)

Hours: 34 per week, term time including 5 additional days

Contract type: Permanent

Location: Woodland View - Based at Monkwood Primary School

Are you passionate about education and ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Teaching Assistant Level 4 to become an integral part of our vibrant team. If you’re enthusiastic about making a real difference in the lives of young people and love the buzz of a classroom, we’d love to hear from you!

As a Level 4 Teaching Assistant, you’ll take on an enhanced role, supporting learning across the curriculum while planning, delivering, and evaluating learning activities tailored to pupils’ individual needs. Your input will shape the progress of pupils – academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging learning activities with clear, challenging objectives that adapt to individual pupils’ needs.

  • Use a range of assessment techniques to evaluate pupil progress, identifying opportunities for support and challenge.

  • Support pupils with EHCPs, attending and contributing to reviews, and working closely with parents and carers to provide constructive feedback.

  • Liaise with teaching staff and external professionals to ensure the right support is in place for every child.

  • Supervise whole classes during planned learning activities or in the absence of the class teacher.

  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing accurate and meaningful feedback to inform future planning.

  • Promote positive behaviour and independence in line with our school’s values and behaviour policy.

  • Offer pastoral support to pupils, helping to create a safe, caring and inclusive environment.

  • Provide vital classroom support including administrative tasks such as photocopying, laminating, and preparing displays.
