Are you an experienced and proactive support staff member dedicated to helping children succeed? We are looking for a Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join our team, working closely with colleagues to deliver engaging learning activities and provide essential support to students with diverse needs.
About WPT
At Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT), we are fueled by a single commitment: 'We never knowingly do less for other people’s children than we would for our own.' As a thriving network of schools across South Yorkshire, we combine high expectations with embedded inclusivity. We do not work in silos; instead, we rely on deep collaboration and school-to-school support to ensure every student develops socially, emotionally, and academically to achieve the highest standards.
About the Role
We are seeking resilient and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our teams within our Primary SEND provisions.
Oldgate Lane Re-engagement Centre. The Oldgate Lane Centre is a dedicated provision for primary-aged pupils (typically Key Stage 1 and 2) who have faced significant challenges engaging with the traditional academic curriculum. We specialise in working with children who have complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs and require a highly adapted, nurturing, and flexible environment to thrive both within the centre and within their home schools.
The Woodland View Centre is an Early Years Assessment Unit offering a warm and friendly setting, providing support for children aged 3-6 years with complex needs. Our children are at the very heart of everything we do and are valued as individuals. Our caring and dedicated team are committed to supporting every child to become the very best that they can be.
Magna Lane is an SEMH Integrated resource. Children access the resource in the event that their presenting needs mean that they are unable to access the mainstream classroom. The resource replaces missing or distorted early nurturing experiences for pupils by immersing them in an accepting and warm environment, which helps develop positive relationships with both teachers and peers. Our very clear expectation is to achieve better outcomes for all our children and young people.
In these specialist environments, you will play a key role in supporting students who require a different approach to learning. You will move beyond general classroom assistance to deliver structured activities for individuals and small groups, often supporting students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Candidates must have proven experience supporting children with behavioural needs, as you will need intuition, patience, and strong behaviour management skills to help our pupils re-engage with their education and achieve progress.
Responsibilities
Learning Support: Deliver structured teaching programmes and assist colleagues with learning activities, supporting individuals and small groups to achieve their goals.
Monitoring & Assessment: Monitor and report on pupil progress and achievement, providing detailed feedback to colleagues to ensure appropriate follow-up support is put in place.
Environment & Admin: Maintain an organised learning environment by managing resources, conducting routine marking and record-keeping, and performing clerical duties such as displaying work.
Pastoral & Behaviour: Support classroom management by promoting good behaviour and providing pastoral care, including the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for students with specific needs.
The Successful candidate must hold an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
