Job title: Sports Coach

Salary: WPT Band 5 (£26873 - £28770 (£19191 - £20545 pro-rata)

Hours: 30 hours per week, term time

Contract type: Permanent

Join Our Team as a Sports Coach! 

Are you passionate about inspiring young minds and fostering a love for physical activity and sports? Do you have a talent for planning engaging lessons and motivating students to reach their full potential? If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team as a Sports Coach!

As a Sports Coach, you'll play a vital role in promoting physical health and wellbeing among our students, contributing to the planning and delivery of PE lessons and extracurricular activities. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help create a positive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities Include: 

Contributing to the effective planning and preparation of PE lessons, ensuring that the diverse needs and interests of students are met, and providing support to teachers as needed.

Delivering coaching in a variety of physical activities as part of the Academy's PE curriculum, with a focus on out-of-school hours learning to encourage participation and skill development.

Monitoring students' participation and progress, offering constructive support and feedback, and contributing to the assessment of their development, progress, and attainment.

Evaluating students' progress through a range of assessment activities, maintaining accurate records, and preparing monitoring reports to track their ongoing development.

Assisting in the organisation of inter-school and intra-school sporting competitions, supporting with administrative tasks, and ensuring the smooth running of school and competition events.

Being a positive role model for students, creating a supportive and enjoyable environment that motivates and encourages children to participate in sports and physical activity.

Taking proactive steps to identify and overcome barriers to participation among children, prioritising access and inclusion for all.

Developing and maintaining effective and positive working relationships with all staff, as well as the wider community and sporting organisations, to promote collaboration and enhance the student experience.

Maintaining contacts with outside sporting bodies to ensure opportunities for signposting are available to specific groups and individuals.

Additionally, providing first-aid as needed and holding relevant qualifications, with training provided where necessary, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students during sporting activities.
