Who we are
We are Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT) - a multi-academy trust with eight primary schools, five secondary schools, one sixth form, and one Central Team under our umbrella.
We’re dotted across Rotherham, South Yorkshire, with one school based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.
At WPT, students are at the heart of everything we do, and we aim to send all children into an ever-changing world, able and qualified to play their full part in it. To give them the best educational experience possible, we recognise the importance of investing in and supporting our colleagues.
And that starts with finding the right person for the job!
Join Our Dynamic Team as a Senior Attendance and Compliance Manager
Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for school attendance and safeguarding? Do you have the expertise to drive compliance, influence culture, and lead with authority across multiple schools? If so, this could be your next career-defining role!
As the Senior Attendance and Compliance Manager, you will be at the heart of our Trust’s commitment to every pupil’s right to education. Reporting to the Director of Safeguarding and Inclusion, you will provide expert leadership, operational oversight, and strategic guidance to ensure all our schools meet their statutory attendance duties. You will shape and deliver a culture of high expectations, using data-driven insight and robust intervention strategies to reduce persistent absence and support pupil success.
You will provide expert guidance on UK school attendance law and DfE guidance, ensuring all academies comply with statutory duties and maintain accurate registers. You will audit attendance practices, hold school leaders accountable, and oversee statutory interventions, including Fixed Penalty Notices and court processes. You will develop, implement, and review the Trust’s Attendance Matters Pathway (SAMP), using attendance data to identify and prioritise pupils at risk of persistent absence. You will manage complex cases, coordinate multi-agency collaboration with local authorities, health, and social care services, and provide expert advice to school teams while escalating safeguarding concerns as necessary.
Additionally, you will line manage and develop Attendance Officers and relevant staff, contribute to Trust-wide policies, and oversee budgets and resources for attendance programmes.
This is a rare opportunity to shape attendance strategy across a forward-thinking Trust, making a tangible difference to pupils’ lives while working with a dedicated, supportive team. You will be empowered to lead with impact, backed by a culture that values expertise, accountability, and innovation.
The successful candidate must hold a degree qualification and/or theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge in the specialist area.
Sound like you? We’d love to hear from you!
