Job role: Safeguarding Officer Level 1
Salary: WPT Band 5 £28163 - £30060 (£22793 - £24329 pro-rata)
Hours: 37 hours, term time including all inset days

Join our team as a Safeguarding Officer!
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Safeguarding Officer to join our team at Rawmarsh Community School. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our pupils, working closely with the Safeguarding Manager to address any safeguarding or child protection issues that arise.
Key Responsibilities:
To support the Safeguarding Manager in dealing with safeguarding and child protection matters arising at the academy, and acting as a source of advice and support to staff in dealing with any child protection concerns that arise
Respond appropriately to disclosures relating to the well-being of a child making referrals to the appropriate authority, ensuring that relevant, detailed and accurate written records of referrals / concerns are kept and that these are stored securely.
Attend and participate in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings contributing to the assessment of children and to the sharing of information and/or planning in relation to specific pupils * Liaise with colleagues and outside organisations to provide Early Help as soon as a problem emerges by making referrals where appropriate
Ensure that actions resulting from meetings are carried out in a co-ordinated way, making the difference for the child.
To provide outreach to families including making home visits, where appropriate, to talk to parents about issues and to offer advice about strategies to deal with problems
Support the Safeguarding Manager to ensure the Academy meets statutory and local requirements in relation to safeguarding
To support the Safeguarding Manager to ensure all staff have up to date and appropriate safeguarding training.
