ROLE: Outdoor Sports Assistant

SALARY: WPT Band 3 £25185 - £25989 (£22182 - £22890 pro-rata)
CONTRACT: Permanent
HOURS: 37 hours, term time only plus all inset days

About the Role
As an Outdoor Sports Assistant, you will play a key role in the smooth running of our outdoor education provision. You will work alongside teachers and outdoor instructors to facilitate a range of activities, ensuring that equipment is safe and ready for use and that students are supported to get the most out of every session. This role requires a hands-on approach, confidence around water, and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of outdoor adventure, from logistics to student engagement.
Responsibilities
Equipment Management: Responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and storage of equipment, ensuring it is safe and ready for all outdoor adventure lessons.
Teaching Support: Assist instructors during sessions by supporting student participation, implementing Individual Education Programmes (IEPs), and conducting assessments to monitor progress.
Safety & Compliance: Apply good practice and safety measures (particularly for water sports) in line with National Governing Body standards, including providing First Aid.
Enrichment: Contribute to the coordination of extra-curricular activities and competitions, showing a willingness to support a wide variety of outdoor pursuits.
The successful candidate must hold an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
