Job title: Learning Mentor Level 1
Salary: WPT Band 5 £28163 - £30060 (£24805 - £26475 pro rata)
Hours: 37 hours per week, term time plus inset days
Contract: Permanent

As a Learning Mentor, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting targeted pupils, providing bespoke assistance to overcome barriers to learning and fostering a positive educational journey for every student. Your dedication and expertise will make a real difference in the lives of those you mentor, helping them to unlock their true academic and personal potential.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Working closely with targeted pupils, offering specific support to address individual or small group needs, and helping them overcome obstacles to learning.
Observing pupil progress and identifying their unique needs, facilitating the development of personalised learning plans tailored to each student's requirements.
Mentoring pupils on a one-to-one basis, including those who may have been excluded from the classroom, guiding them through the implementation of individual learning plans and providing ongoing encouragement and support.
Building strong relationships with pupils' families or guardians, collaborating to address issues such as poor performance, attendance, and behaviour, and conducting home visits when necessary to ensure a comprehensive level of support.
Reviewing and assessing learning plans regularly, tracking pupil progress and providing valuable insights to facilitate the successful reintegration of students back into the classroom environment.
Developing a diverse range of activities to offer additional support to pupils, including accessing external facilities and academic resources, ensuring every student has the tools they need to succeed.
Collaborating with external organisations to forge strong working relationships, leveraging additional support services and resources to enhance pupil assistance and overall academic success.
Maintaining meticulous pupil records, diligently reporting on achievement and progress to ensure accurate documentation and informed decision-making.
