Clifton Community School is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Head of Year KS4 to join our dynamic team and make a real difference in the lives of our Year 10 and Year 11 students.

Key Responsibilities Include: 

Collaborative Excellence: Work closely with our talented teaching team to identify and address barriers to student achievement. Guide and advise staff on implementing effective intervention and support strategies.

Monitoring and Evaluation: Keep track of students' responses, achievements, and progress. Prepare comprehensive paperwork for student reviews and evaluate progress against targets.

Specialised Mentoring: Provide targeted mentoring sessions for students in need, or facilitate alternative mentoring opportunities, including connecting them with external agencies.

Behaviour Management Leadership: Lead the way in managing the behaviour of the year group. Monitor behaviour patterns, apply effective strategies, and ensure a positive and conducive learning environment.Attendance and Punctuality Oversight: Oversee and improve attendance and punctuality. Liaise with parents, staff, and external agencies to implement necessary measures for improvement.

Pastoral and Welfare Support: Be the first point of contact for pastoral and welfare issues. Work with students on emotional health and wellbeing, liaise with staff and multi-agencies, and make appropriate referrals.

Home/School Liaison: Maintain strong links between home and school. Be available to students and parents, addressing a range of issues from attitudes to learning to individual progress, fostering a positive culture within the academy.

Staff Support and Intervention: Assist staff in dealing with behaviour issues. Develop and implement intervention strategies to support both pastoral and academic progress.

Alternative Provision Management: Identify students at risk of requiring Alternative Provision. Ensure all internal and external support options are exhausted before transition, and support successful reintegration into mainstream school.

Pastoral Support Plans Development: Contribute to the creation and implementation of Pastoral Support Plans. Support the SENDCo in collating information for EHC plans and JCQ access assessments.
