Job title: Graduate tutor

Salary: WPT Band 6 £16.62 - £17.84 per hour

Contract type: Zero hour, Casual

We’re dotted across Rotherham, South Yorkshire with one school based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.

The Role

Are you a passionate graduate seeking to make a meaningful impact in education? Join our thriving school community and gain invaluable experience as a Graduate Tutor. We are seeking enthusiastic and committed graduates to provide targeted academic support to students who need it most. This is a rewarding role where you will see the direct impact of your work while developing essential skills for a future career in teaching. As a Graduate Tutor, you will be a vital part of our student support system.

Your primary responsibilities will include: 

  • Delivering high-quality online tutoring to individual students and small groups with 1-10 students

  • Supporting disadvantaged students to close learning gaps and build confidence in their studies

  • Collaborating with our Subject Directors to plan and tailor sessions to meet student needs

  • Monitoring and reporting on student progress, adapting your approach to ensure success

Who We’re Looking For 

  • A recent graduate with a strong academic background in a subject with significant Maths, Science, English, or Humanities elements

  • A natural communicator with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and patiently

  • A self-motivated, flexible, and organised individual who can work with initiative in a remote setting.

  • Someone with a genuine passion for education and supporting young people. (Previous tutoring or teaching experience is a plus, but not required—we provide full training!)

  • Someone confident in presenting online lessons and can engage and build relationships with vulnerable learners

  • Confident use of ICT - Google Suite knowledge is advantageous
