Join Our Dynamic Team as an Education Welfare Officer!

Are you passionate about helping children achieve their full potential? Do you thrive on building strong partnerships with families and schools to improve attendance and wellbeing? If so, we want you to join our team as an Education Welfare Officer.

As an Education Welfare Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting pupils to attend school regularly and engage fully in their learning. You will work closely with parents, pupils, and external agencies to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.

You will hold an NVQ Level 3 or have relevant experience in education, welfare, or a related field. Experience in safeguarding, attendance monitoring, or education welfare is highly desirable.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building strong partnerships between home and academy, guiding parents to understand and fulfil their legal responsibilities around attendance.

  • Meeting with parents and pupils to agree tailored actions to reduce absence and improve attendance, monitoring outcomes, and maintaining accurate, timely case records.

  • Conducting investigations in line with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, providing evidence as needed for potential court proceedings.

  • Supporting safeguarding initiatives, attending Child Protection meetings and conferences, and contributing to key decision-making processes.

  • Monitoring academy attendance data, producing insightful reports, and advising staff on trends and concerns to drive improvements.

  • Collaborating with external agencies to ensure coordinated support for attendance and alternative provision, enabling pupils to reach their full potential.

If you are ready to champion attendance, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing, this is the role for you. Apply Today and be part of a team committed to helping every pupil thrive!
