Job role: Cleaner

Salary: WPT Band 1 £22366 (£7986 pro-rata)

Hours: 15 hours

Location: The Gainsborough Academy

Join Our Team as a Cleaner!

Under the direction of the Cleaning Supervisor/Caretaker, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of our academy. If you're dedicated to ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors, we invite you to apply for this rewarding position.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensuring the cleanliness of a specified area within the academy, working diligently to a set timescale to maintain hygiene standards and create a pleasant environment for all.

  • Undertaking appropriate training to understand the correct use and storage of cleaning equipment and domestic products, prioritising health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Remaining vigilant to risks and hazards, promptly reporting any issues under COSHH guidelines to maintain a high level of health and safety throughout the academy.

  • Replenishing hygiene items such as soap and towels, supporting the needs of staff, students, and visitors to maintain personal hygiene standards and promote a clean environment.

  • Maintaining accurate cleaning records in compliance with health and safety protocols and academy procedures, ensuring transparency and accountability in all cleaning activities.

  • Working collaboratively with other cleaning staff as a cohesive team, collectively ensuring the entire academy is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, fostering a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all.
