About WPT

At Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT), we are fueled by a single commitment: 'We never knowingly do less for other people’s children than we would for our own.' As a thriving network of schools across South Yorkshire, we combine high expectations with embedded inclusivity. We do not work in silos; instead, we rely on deep collaboration and school-to-school support to ensure every student develops socially, emotionally, and academically to achieve the highest standards.

About the Role

As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for the security, safety, and general upkeep of the building, acting as the first point of contact for any premises issues in your area. This is a varied, hands-on role that involves everything from opening up in the morning and carrying out minor repairs to moving furniture and overseeing evening lettings. • Maintenance & Systems: Carry out minor repairs and building system checks to ensure the site is fit for purpose, acting as the point of contact for contractors and directing them to repair locations.

  • Operations & Logistics: Undertake general porterage duties (moving furniture/equipment), manage the receipt of deliveries, and prepare the site for school lettings and daily activities.

  • Standards & Compliance: Ensure cleaning standards are maintained and keep accurate records of all maintenance, safety tests, and inspections.

Qualifications and Skills

  • The successful candidate must hold an NVQ Level 2 in a relevant field (e.g., Building Maintenance) or have relevant experience in the role.

  • Practical DIY skills for carrying out minor repairs.

  • Good understanding of Health and Safety regulations.

  • Physical ability to undertake porterage duties (moving furniture/equipment).

  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to attend emergency call-outs are often required.

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive salary

  • Generous Local Government (support staff) and Teacher Pension Schemes
