Are you an organised communicator with a keen eye for detail? We are seeking a diligent Attendance Officer to join our pastoral support team, acting as the first point of contact for families and ensuring that every student is safe, accounted for, and supported in their education.
About WPT
At Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT), we are fuelled by a single commitment: 'We never knowingly do less for other people’s children than we would for our own.' As a thriving network of schools across South Yorkshire, we combine high expectations with embedded inclusivity. We do not work in silos; instead, we rely on deep collaboration and school-to-school support to ensure every student develops socially, emotionally, and academically to achieve the highest standards.
About the Role
As an Attendance Officer, you will be pivotal in maintaining the high standards of attendance that underpin our students' success. You will manage the day-to-day operations of the attendance office, ensuring registers are accurate and safeguarding protocols are strictly followed. From conducting First Day Calling to analysing data trends, your work will directly inform the school’s intervention strategies. This role requires a balance of administrative precision and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with parents and carers.
Responsibilities
Communication & Safeguarding: Act as the first point of contact for parents regarding absences, conducting First Day Calling to verify reasons for absence and strictly adhere to safeguarding protocols.
Data Management: accurately manage the school’s Management Information System (MIS), ensuring daily registers are complete, statutory codes are input correctly, and data is kept up to date.
Reporting & Analysis: Maintain attendance databases and generate detailed reports (e.g., persistent absence lists) to inform management decisions and track trends.
Admin & Procedures: Support operational procedures such as Late Gate checks, schedule attendance meetings, and manage all related correspondence and rewards administration.
The successful candidate must hold an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
